Michael maintains a general practice focused on litigation and dispute resolution. He has appeared successfully before all levels of court in Saskatchewan and before various administrative tribunals. Michael has experience in labour law, employment law, defence of professionals, construction law, and criminal law. Michael also actively practices in the area of child welfare law, representing youth in care, First Nations, and parents during contentious child welfare proceedings.
Michael is involved with several access to justice projects. He is a committed volunteer of CLASSIC Inc., which is a poverty law clinic offering legal services to residents of the inner city of Saskatoon.
Michael received both his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor from the University of Saskatchewan in 2016. He was called to the Saskatchewan bar in 2017 and is currently a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Saskatoon Bar Association. Michael joined the lawyers at Plaxton Jensen in 2019.
During law school Michael had the fortune to volunteer for the Public Ministry of the state of Bahia, Brazil, where he assisted in prosecuting crimes against the person, such as robbery and assault. He lived and worked in the city of Salvador for a period of three months in 2014.
